Tungaloy Corporation has received two awards from the Japan Cutting & Wear-Resistant Tool Association (JTA): the 2026 Environmental Special Award for continuous improvements in reducing CO₂ emissions and waste generation, and the 2026 Technical Achievement Award for its DeepTri-Drill insert-based deep hole drilling system.
These awards mark the fourth consecutive year of technological innovation awards and the third consecutive year of recognition for environmental initiatives. In keeping with Tungaloy's philosophy of "Sustainability is Engineered," these results highlight the connection between technological innovation, productivity, resource efficiency, and environmental performance.
Environmental Special Award: Continuous improvements in environmental protection
The 2026 Environmental Special Award recognizes Tungaloy's achievements in consistently reducing, over several years, the intensity of CO₂ emissions per unit of production and the total amount of waste generated. After receiving the Environmental Grand Prize in 2024 and 2025, Tungaloy has been recognized for its environmental initiatives by the JTA for the third consecutive year.

Technical Achievement Award: Innovation in deep drilling
The 2026 Technical Achievement Award honors DeepTri-Drill, a deep drilling system with interchangeable inserts with a minimum drilling diameter of 8 mm. Developed to overcome the challenges of deep drilling small diameters, it integrates three proprietary technologies that enable stable and highly efficient machining. The interchangeable insert design offers an alternative to traditional brazed gundrills, improving productivity and process reliability and promoting more efficient use of carbide.
